Martin County Sheriff’s Office Animal Enforcement Division provides a shelter for stray animals and owner turn-in animals, which can either be placed up for adoption or euthanized. NC State law only requires stray animals to be held for 72 hours. It is imperative if you have lost an animal to report it immediately.
